Leading global property development company is looking for an experienced and qualified senior Business Partner / Financial Controller to join its growing and dynamic finance team.

This is a newly created role which is tasked with business partnering and supporting 2 key London based Centres (one based in East London, one in West London - both Zone 2) and overseeing the work of the 2 Centre Finance teams (The successful candidate will be expected to split their time between both locations).

Key Objectives:

  • Work in partnership with the Centre General Managers and Assistant General Managers to drive delivery of Centre strategy through the financial governance of all operational activities.
  • Work collaboratively with core Centre Management stakeholders to identify and manage business critical issues, ensuring financial implications are at the forefront of the decision making process.
  • Enhance the business partnership with the UK Commercial team, working collaboratively on key operational issues and projects.
  • Assist in the development of high performing Centre Finance teams to enhance the financial support and guidance provided to all Centre Management stakeholders.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assume direct line management for the Centre Finance Managers and Finance Analysts
  • Oversee the preparation and delivery of monthly reforecasts, annual budgets and six monthly long term forecasts for operational centre service charge, CAPEX, and relevant management income.
  • Take a lead role in the delivery of annual operating centre Business Plans, and implement improvements in the quality, timing and efficiency of preparation.
  • Provide financial analysis and support on development projects to key Centre Management stakeholders as required.
  • Oversee the Centre Finance month end cycle, and enhance the quality and efficiency of all core deliverables.
  • Take a lead role in a project to improve and develop existing Centre Finance reporting and financial controls, with particular focus on centre operational performance.
  • Take a lead role in the implementation of a financial and accounting control environment for the Phase II extension at Westfield London.

 

Preferred Skills:

Experience, Knowledge & Qualifications:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent) with extensive PQE experience
  • This role will be split between 2 London locations (one of which is East of Central, and one of which is West of Central - both Zone 2). Candidates must be prepared and able to do this.
  • Proven leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and develop Finance teams
  • Significant experience of business partnering within an operational / commercial environment
  • Demonstrable record of improving processes, procedures and existing operational systems
  • Proven track record of providing impetus and direction to financial reporting and analysis
  • Good technical and systems skills
  • Evidence of strong communication skills, both written and verbal
