Leading international media company are looking for a bright and ambitious Assistant Accountant level candidate who is currently studying towards their professional qualifications (ACCA, CIMA or equivalent), to join its Head Office finance team, based in Central London. The Head Office finance team is responsible for 17 different entities.

Duties

Reporting to the Finance Manager in the Head Office finance team of 8, duties will include:

  • Input all relevant information and journals received from Treasury into Great Plains financial software package;
  • Monthly Reporting to HFM as well as other related tasks to complete the financial package;
  • Monthly bank movement transactions journals;
  • Monthly management account reconciliations;
  • Monthly treasury bank account reconciliations;
  • Assistance with quarterly VAT returns;
  • Maintain Fixed Asset Register;
  • Recording & processing of all Invoices and Expenses for one particular entity;
  • Quarterly preparation of Leasing Reforecast;
  • Assist with KPMG interim and annual audit;
  • Assistance with yearly preparation of Statutory Accounts;
  • Quarterly completion of IRP Reporting Pack for all companies;
  • Software, Maintenance & Consulting monthly analysis
  • Quarterly Sarbanes Oxley Testing;
  • Completing annual European VAT Return;
  • Assistance to Finance Manager and Financial Controller as required.

Requirements:

  • Degree educated and currently studying towards a professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • Solid post university accounting experience, covering all transactional accounting with some exposure to some basic level month end accounting
  • Strong IT literacy including proficiency on MS Excel. Experience of Great Plains would be an advantage but isn’t expected
