Assistant Accountant




Small but growing technology business based in central London is looking for a part-qualified (ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) individual to join its business as an Assistant Accountant.


Reporting to the Finance Manager in a team of 5, duties will include:

* Perform the month end pre-close checks and run the month end procedure
* Assist Finance Manager in the preparation of the monthly Management Accounts
* Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns
* Prepare and submit the EC Sales and Intrastat returns on time every month
* Prepare and analyse monthly expense reports
* Raise payments to suppliers via online banking for approval by management
* Raise all sales invoices including customer meter reading invoices
* Process purchase invoices for payment
* Raise bid pricing and follow through to approval
* Prepare contract amendments for review by management
* Set up new contracts for billing
* Process termination quotes
* Process price increases.
* Update contract band changes when required
* Weekly stock reconciliations
* Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations
* Bespoke customer invoicing and reporting
* Any other duties as determined by the Finance Manager / Head of Finance


  • ACCA or CIMA part-qualified (or equivalent)
  • Candidates must have some solid finance experience from an SME company
  • Must have experience of: Purchase Ledger, Sales ledger, Bank Reconciliations and Journal postings as a minimum
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong Excel skills
