Growing Management Consultancy in Central London is looking for a dynamic and driven part-qualified (ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) accountant to join its team as a Management Accountant.

Duties

The successful candidate will report to the Financial Controller in a Finance team of 4 and will carry out a varied role including:

  • Produce monthly management accounts and board pack with detailed variance analysis, trends and concerns
  • Maintain and post monthly accruals and prepayments
  • Reconcile and post monthly payroll journal
  • Reconcile monthly freelancer invoices against timesheet completion and accrue as required
  • Complete monthly company credit card reconciliations
  • Produce monthly balance sheet reconciliations for review with Financial Controller
  • Set up new projects in AX, subject to audit checks being completed
  • Proactively review project forecasts, revenue and WIP anomalies and invoice projects
  • Set up and chair monthly commercial review business meetings with PDs and PMs
  • Ensure all meeting actions are completed on a timely basis and proactively follow up outstanding business actions
  • Assist with year-end statutory audit preparation
  • Support the Financial Controller with the budgeting & forecasting process

Requirements:

  • ACCA or CIMA part-qualified or equivalent
  • University degree desirable but not essential
  • The successful candidate must possess solid month end accounting / analysis experience. The ideal candidate will probably be an Assistant Accountant / Assistant Management Accountant looking to take their next step
  • Have good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Be able to work with management-level colleagues from both financial and non-financial backgrounds
  • Have good financial systems experience – knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics AX would be advantageous
  • Have a good working knowledge of Excel
  • Be able to consistently produce high quality work with good attention to detail
  • Be able to work towards and meet tight deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Be able to work under pressure and adapt to changing reporting and business needs
  • Be able to respond to queries/requests promptly
  • Be a proactive and enthusiastic team player
