A progressive property company based in Central London requires a Senior Accountant to join their growing organisation. The successful candidate will be joining a dynamic culture with significant career progression on offer. This is a permanent position.


Role Responsibilities –

  • Responsible for the timely production of monthly management accounts with commentaries and analysis for the appropriate areas of responsibilities
  • Responsible for the production of statutory returns for VAT and Partial Exemption and to ensure compliance with our tax affairs and in meeting the statutory deadlines
  • Posting of relevant journal to VAT accounts to ensure all VAT nominals are kept up to date
  • Contribute to the planning and production of annual accounts
  • Assist the Financial Controller in liaising with the external auditors, including preparing any required analysis to support the financial data disclosed, and be able to present such analyses in a form that is easily accessible and understood by others
  • Monthly posting of cash transactions – working very closely with AP/AR/Credit Control to ensure all monthly transactions are recorded in the ledger with limited bank reconciling items
  • Posting of month end accruals for bank debt and bond interest, interest earned on deposit and fee amortisation
  • Recording of cash and P&L quarterly distributions/dividends and shareholder loan repayments for the group, which can be complicated transactions
  • To take control of month end processes, ensuring that monthly reconciliation of Balance Sheet control and bank accounts is carried out in compliance with company policy, taking the lead in the reconciliation of relevant control accounts, posting errors and completing year end activity to agreed deadlines
  • Review and improve processes and procedures in relation to the accounting systems and reconciliation processes and ensuring the integrity of the accounting records through strong internal controls
  • Liaise with colleagues to ensure that the accounting records are maintained and captured accurately in line with statutory requirements, and to ensure that monthly reconciliation and monitoring reports are provided on time to senior management
  • Other ad hoc duties as and when required

Candidate Requirements –

  • ACA/CIMA/ACCA (or equivalent) qualified with 2 years post qualification experience
  • Experience in the above role responsibilities
  • Proven track record of delivering and meeting deadlines
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Team player
  • Previous industry experience would be beneficial however not essential
