Halliday Marx have exclusively partnered with an international media business who are looking for a Financial Controller to join the team.

3 days in the office (Central London)

Duties

  • Oversee Group consolidation and preparation of monthly and annual financial statements across multiple legal entities globally, including commentary on key variances.
  • Oversee 20 holding companies’ general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with IFRS and Group policies.
  • Lead a team of two finance professionals, offering training, mentorship
  • Work with relevant external parties such as tax consultants, tax authorities and auditors.
  • Lead process simplification and optimisation through greater reliance on systems.
  • This role will require creation of global accounting practices and procedures to bring all legal entities to one accounting standard.
  • This role will also drive continuous improvement of relevant accounting and operational finance processes to shorten the monthly closing cycle and streamline reporting.
  • Monthly consolidation and preparation of financial statements, including full P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow
  • Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
  • Prepare monthly analysis of results, commenting on key variances against prior periods and Budgets
  • Annual statutory audit, including coordination of all local audits
  • Liaise with other group entities around the world on intercompany reconciliations and recharges
  • Manage indirect tax filings (VAT, BTW, GST etc.).
  • Oversee monthly payroll posting and reconciliation for all legal entities

Requirements:

  • ACA/ACCA qualified or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience in a relevant finance role, with at least 1 year of management experience, preferably within an international company
  • In-house controlling experience
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments
  • Prior experience managing multiple legal entities
