My client is a fast-growing media company based in Central London and are looking for an Interim Financial Accountant for 6 months to start in early January 2025.

Duties

  • Facilitate and manage the month-end close process by keeping team priorities on track and assisting staff when necessary
  • Responsibility for the timely and accurate review of monthly account reconciliations for all areas of the balance sheet.
  • Prepare the consolidated balance sheet on a monthly basis
  • Lead on the preparation for the annual financial audit and ensure deliverables requests are completed within deadlines by communicating efficiently with the auditors.
  • Responsible for managing HMRC platforms, filing quarterly VAT submissions, reconciling VAT and PAYE Control accounts and liaising with HMRC as needed.
  • Approving payments including weekly payment runs
  • Respond to queries from internal and external stakeholders, providing accurate and timely support.
  • Manage the preparation of a weekly rolling cash flow statement incorporating actual results and forecasts.
  • Review bank reconciliations on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • Oversee the administration and access control of all group bank accounts and credit cards.
  • Assist the Head of Finance with the continual improvement of financial processes and controls
  • Provide support on all workstreams for the roll out of financial processes and accounting required for new entities within the Group as required.

Requirements:

  • Big 6 ACA or ACCA qualified accountant with min two years post qualified experience
  • Experience working in industry and/or with PE backed businesses would be preferred but not essential. Would consider straight from practice.
  • Strong understanding of financial systems, policies and processes with the ability of identifying potential risks and issues in advance.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the capability of persuading, influencing and negotiating with others.
  • Confident with senior stakeholders, both financial and non-financial, when assisting with decision-making.
  • Committed, passionate and able to use initiative to drive the business forward.
  • Highly organised with the ability to re-prioritise workload depending on urgency.
