Halliday Marx have partnered with a fast growing Financial services company / Trading platform to hire a new position of Group Tax Manager.

Reporting to the CFO, the Group Tax Manager will be involved in assisting in all aspects of tax across the Group. Collaborating with other areas of finance and external service providers, this role is responsible for tax compliance for corporation tax, VAT, transfer pricing, R&D, employee related taxes and other indirect taxes across the Group. The role will also be responsible for supporting the Executive in all tax strategy planning.


  • Main contributor to various global tax planning strategies and initiatives
  • Advising the firm on transfer pricing issues and contributing to the development of the Group’s Transfer Pricing policy and documentation
  • Advising the Group on R&D issues, including timely delivery of calculations & technical reports. Ensuring the Group is well informed on changes to R&D regimes in all jurisdictions.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate calculation and delivery of VAT returns, advising on implications of partial exemption method and advising on all VAT related issues.
  • Responsibility for all of the Group’s Withholding tax matters (including filing IRS returns)
  • Responsibility for all of the Group’s FATCA and CRS reporting
  • Providing support to the Group in technical tax matters (e.g. tax implications of new branches/ subsidiaries, employee related tax issues etc)
  • Prepare tax disclosures for the Group
  • Collaborating with HR and the Executive on tax aspects of remuneration strategies
  • Analysing tax developments and risks, advising on how these are likely to impact the Group
  • Drive efficiencies within the Finance Team by working with the Systems
  • Accountant to automate taxation tasks
  • Management of relationships with external advisers
  • Other ad-hoc tasks as and when required by Senior Management.

You will have / be:

  • Graduate (2.1 or 1st) in a relevant subject (Maths/ Economics/ Accounting/ Finance/ similar).
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with a minimum of 4 years PQE.
  • Currently working in a tax role within financial services.
  • Proven track record of driving efficiencies.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to liaise with colleagues from all areas of the business.
  • Desire to learn and develop an understanding in the financial services industry.
