Halliday Marx have exclusively partnered with well known Tech firm to hire an Operations Analyst an interim basis for 6 months (likely to extend)

Working pattern: 4 days per week in the office, 1 at home

Start date: Immediate

Day rate: it will be paid PAYE but the umbrella equivalent is between £300-£325 per day

Duties

• Perform detailed cost analysis and margin reporting to support operational performance.
• Partner with operations and production teams to ensure accurate costing of materials, labour, and overhead.
• Prepare monthly cost of goods sold (COGS) reports and variance analyses.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Support standard costing updates and process improvements in SAP ByDesign.
• Analyse production and purchase price variances and provide actionable insights.
• Work cross-functionally to support budgeting and forecasting from a cost and inventory perspective.
• Drive process improvements in cost control and inventory accuracy.
• Maintain costing structure in the system by helping create a clear process for how costing requests are initiated and submitted within the system
• Maintain the Bill of Materials (BOM) to reflect any creations or changes in design, specifications, or supplier information
• Build and maintain a process workflow for cross-checking the BOM for accuracy and completeness
• Monitor and receive products, including checking these shipments against a purchase order, and tagging and coding them to the correct location, both physically and digitally.
• Identify risks, implement controls, and maintain proper process documentation and evidence in accordance with SOX
• Ensure accounts within the ERP and Inventory Management System reconcile

Essential Requirements (Non-Negotiable)

• Immediate availability – able to start straight away or within days.
• Strong cost accounting experience – hands-on experience managing and analysing manufacturing or production costs.
• Proficiency in SAP ByDesign – confident user with demonstrable experience managing cost and inventory processes in the system.
