Halliday Marx have partnered with a high growth Digital SaaS technology start up to hire an experienced VP Finance from a SaaS background. To cover a 16 month maternity leave contract, the role runs the day to day financial operations of the business. Reporting into the CPO, this role will be responsible for preparation of management and board reporting, cash flow forecasting and all other financial modelling, statutory reporting and compliance, plus other project work such as finance system improvement.


Key responsibilities include:

Preparation of monthly management accounts (balance sheet, P&L and cash flow) and financial board reporting
Assist the incumbent VP Finance initially in the setup of company SaaS metric reporting, and lead in the reporting of these thereafter
Collaborate cross-company, alongside the incumbent VP Finance initially, including improvements to financial & operational reporting/forecasting tools
Support cross-company on other projects such as product pricing, the billing system process, besides other legal, HR and operational projects
Oversee both short-term and long term cashflow forecasting and reporting
Run financial budgeting, forecasting and modelling as required by the CEO and CPO
Support the CEO and CPO on any fund raising activities
Attendance at board & remuneration committee meetings, including the preparation of financial material for presentation
Mentoring of Manager in bookkeeping and management accounts duties
Liaising with outsourced accountancy firm on matters such as year-end statutory accounts and Corporation tax preparation
Management of the monthly payroll and corresponding HMRC/Pension reporting and filings


Must haves:

Qualified accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA or equivalent)
Fluent with Excel and financial modelling
Experience working in a SAAS/high growth technology or start up environment
Financial system integration or system improvement experience
Experience of reporting to board or executive management level
Used to working with department heads and budget holders

Preferred experience includes:
Management experience within a finance team
Fundraising experience

This role is expected to require 3 days a week (£80k pro rata to £48k) in total, and there is flexibility in working hours and the specific days worked
Additionally, the role will be working remotely for the most part, although face-to-face team working days, preferably 3-4 times a month, will be expected following the current Covid lockdown
