Halliday Marx have partnered with a rapidly growing publishing firm to hire a Senior Business Analyst on a permanent basis. This role reports into the Head of Finance.

Hybrid working (Minimum of 2 days in the office per week)

Duties

• Line management of 1 direct report
• Manage the reporting, planning and forecasting for the International publishing & licencing (IPL) group
• Business partnering with the international sales team
• Work with the sales team to prepare the annual budget and quarterly forecasts
• Work with the Translation team to prepare the annual translation programme roll up
• Quarterly cost centre budgeting for the international cost centres
• Prepare analysis, budget and forecast packs for presentation to the board
• Completion of month end processes for the IPL and Group businesses including reconciliations; preparation of provisions and accruals; and review of overheads
• Critically analyse the IPL P&L, understanding variances to budget and prior year, ensuring accuracy throughout
• Prepare and present the IPL month end pack and KPIs to the IPL management team
• Prepare the translation programme quarterly review pack and present to the Translation team
• Management of the Bertelsmann Risk Template and annual Risk Reporting
• Prepare biannual regional profitability reporting analysing the performance of the key markets and present to the IPL sales team
• Act as a trusted business partner to the IPL Director and IPL Heads of Sales providing commercial analysis as required, supporting their strategies and ensuring effective cost management

Requirements;

• ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified with a minimum of 1 year PQE
• Ability to analyse, evaluate and clearly report financial data
• Strong commercial awareness – the ability to see the broad perspective
• Ability to apply technical accounting to deliver accurate and relevant financial information.
• Knowledge of Business Objects / SAP /Anaplan
