My client is a consultancy and are looking for a Finance Manager for 4-6 months.
Senior Financial Accountant/Finance Manager
£400-450 per day (4-6 months)
Hybrid Working (1-2 days a week in)
Duties
- Oversee the financial activities of the company, ensuring accurate month end and year-end financial reporting, compliance with tax and VAT regulations, cash forecasting and bank duties.
- Responsible mainly for UK business unit along with oversight of smaller entities in India, Hong Kong, and Germany.
- Monthly close activities such as journal entries and review of the team’s journal entries
- Preparation of monthly reporting including variance analyses with commentary
- Ensuring balance sheet is reconciled on a monthly basis with appropriate documentation that is audit ready.
- Ensure revenue and cost recognition are aligned with GAAP and IFRS
- Streamline month end process to reduce manual elements and to meet 5-day turnaround
- Ensure preparation and timely filing of VAT returns and other tax obligations.
- Liaise with external tax advisors and auditors to ensure compliance and optimize tax strategies.
- Finance lead for external audits, ensuring all requests are submitted on time with sufficient backup
- Develop and maintain robust internal controls and streamline processes in month end reporting
- Monitor weekly cash flow and ensure sufficient liquidity to meet operational needs.
- Manage day-to-day banking transactions, creating disbursements if necessary
- Maintain relationships with banking partners and perform bank admin duties
- Oversee bank reconciliations and ensure all transactions are accurately recorded.
- Manage foreign exchange transactions and mitigate currency risk
Requirements:
- Chartered accountant designation preferred
- Strong knowledge of financial principles, practices, and regulations.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving
- Proficiency in financial software
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
