Halliday Marx are partnering with an outstanding education business to hire a UK Payroll Manager on an interim basis for 6 months.

This role is fully remote with occasional travel to London

Duties

• Managing a UK payroll team
• Deliver accurate end-to-end UK payroll processing, including overtime, bonuses, and deductions
• Manage timely and accurate employee expense processing
• Resolve payroll discrepancies and employee payroll queries efficiently
• Prepare payroll reports, statutory submissions, and tax filings
• Act as key contact for internal and external payroll audits
• Develop, implement, and maintain payroll policies and procedures
• Lead and support the payroll team with a customer-focused approach
• Administer payroll-related benefits and insurance schemes
• Identify and implement payroll system and process improvements
• Reconcile payroll, tax, pension, and benefits accounts with Finance
• Manage annual and statutory requirements (P11Ds, PSA, NMW, pensions, Gender Pay Gap)
• Collaborate closely with HR and Finance to ensure seamless payroll operations

Requirements

• Immediately available
• 5 years + experience within Payroll
• 2 years + experience managing teams
• Ideally from an education background
